Accused booked under sections punishable with life imprisonment; Padmakumar will be shifted to Kottarakkara subjail, Anitha and Anupama will be shifted to Attakulangara.

KOLLAM: The police have booked the accused in the Oyoor child abduction case under sections that are punishable with life imprisonment. The accused have been charged with kidnapping, illegal detention and causing bodily harm. Sections under the Juvenile Justice Act were also imposed against the accused. The court has remanded all the three accused in the case till December 15th.

Chathannoor Mampallikunnam native KR Padmakumar (52), his wife MR. Anithakumari (45) and daughter P Anupama (20) were remanded. Padmakumar will be shifted to the Kottarakkara sub-jail, whereas Anithakumari and Anupama will be shifted to Attakulangara women's sub-jail in Thiruvananthapuram.

The police did not seek the custody of the accused. It is said that the police will file the custody application on Monday. After registering the arrest, the accused were brought to Pooyappally police station. There was a public outcry against the accused who were brought their faces covered. Both the six-year-old girl and her brother identified the accused.
