MALAPPURAM: Former Waqf Board Chairman Panakkad Rashid Ali Shihab Thangal and MLA PK Kunhalikutty came to attend the Ayyappan Vilakku at the Tali Shiva Temple. Both of them came to participate in the Guru Tamaswamy Memorial Ayyappan Vilakku run by the Tali Branch of the Akhila Bharatha Ayyappa Seva Sangham. They reached the temple today at noon.
Representatives from the Panakkad Kodappanakkal family has come for the last 17 Desha vilakku functions. This time it was Panakkad Rashid Ali Shihab Thangal who visited. Thangal and PK Kunhalikutty reached the temple and ate together with the Ayyappa devotees in the community feast prepared in the temple. He inquired about the Ayyappan Vilakku function happening in the afternoon. Sabah Kundupuzhakkal, Vengara Gram Panchayat President KP Haseena Fazal, Vice President TK Poochyapu and others participated in the community feast organized at the temple.
Temple officials Parat Manikanthan, Edathil Sasidharan, K Padmanabhan, Suresh Kadavathu, Chirayil Babu, Vivek Parat, Manoj Edathil and Damodaran Panaykkal welcomed the visitors to the temple. The festival started with Ganapati Homam on Saturday morning and will conclude with Guruthi Tarpanam at 6 am on Sunday.
Kunhalikutty also shared the information about his visit to the temple on social media. 'Participated in Ayyappan Vilakku Mahotsav at Vengara Tali Shiva Temple along with Panakkad Rashid Ali Shihab Thangal. For ages, the Panakkad family has been invited to this event and the Thangals participating in the event has continued to be one of Vengara's representations of goodness,' he wrote in the post.
