No concession for public vehicles at toll plazas: Nitin Gadkari

NEW DELHI: Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in a reply to MP V Sivadasan in Rajya Sabha said that no concession can be given to public vehicles like KSRTC at toll plazas on national highways.

"Exemption is only for certain vehicles used for official purposes and vehicles accompanying VIPs. Even after collecting the entire amount spent for the construction of the road, the toll collection will continue at the rate of 40 percent. States will not get any share from toll collection. The amount goes to the consolidated fund of the central government," Gadkari said.
