Salary crisis in 11 public sector firms: Minister P Rajeev

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister P Rajeev has informed the Legislative Assembly that there is a crisis in the distribution of salaries in 11 public sector institutions.

"The Edarikode and Kottayam Textiles units under Kerala State Textile Corporation, Sitaram Textiles, Thrissur Cooperative Spinning Mills, Malabar Cooperative Spinning Mills, Kerala State Handloom Development Corporation, Kerala Auto Mobiles, Auto Cast, Travancore Cements, and Traco Cable Company are facing difficulties in salary distribution. Meanwhile, in most of the public sector organizations under the control of the Industries Department, salary distribution is being done correctly. Due to the fierce competition from the market, the companies are facing delays in the amount due due to marketing and rendering of services. Therefore in some places they are not able to pay the correct salaries. Rs 28 crore rupees have been allocated in the budget for public sector organizations to settle their legal obligations," Rajeev said.
