THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have made a crucial revelation regarding the suicide of Medical College doctor Shahana. According to the police, the name of Dr Ruwais, Shahana's lover, was mentioned in Shahana's suicide note. This was mentioned in the remand report of Ruwais. The police arrested Ruwais earlier today on the basis of the suicide note written by Shahana on the OP ticket and her mother's statement.

"Today, I'm ending my life because of his desire for dowry...He intended to ruin my life by promising to marry me. It is true that my family would not be able to give one and a half kilos of gold and an acre of land demanded by him...," Shahana's suicide note read. It was these statements that led to the arrest of Ruwais.

Shahana had sent the same message to Ruwais's phone. However, he deleted these messages after realizing that he would be held responsible for Shahna's death. The police have taken Ruwais's phone into custody for inspection.

The statements given by Shahana's mother and sister were similar to the things mentioned in Shahana's suicide note. With this, the police named Ruwais as an accused on charges of abetment of suicide and the Dowry Prohibition Act.
