MUNNAR: Padayappa, the wild tusker landed in the populated area of Idukki Munnar again. The elephant partially destroyed the ration shop at Lockhart Estate. The elephant came in the morning and returned after eating the rice stored in the shop.

The tusker was in the inhabited area for the past two days. Padayappa seen on the gap road yesterday blocked some vehicles. Padayappa, which entered the Lakkad estate last month destroyed the vegetable crops of the plantation workers. Finally, the locals chased them away from the residential area.

Padayappa reached the second division of Silent Valley in Munnar in last September and completely damaged the ration shop. The plantation workers came to protect the ration shop when they came to know that the wild tusker had arrived in the vicinity of the estate. Even before that, Padayappa had destroyed the roof of the ration shop.
