Wild tusker Padayappa stationed on Munnar-Kumali state highway

MUNNAR: The wild tusker Padayappa has entered the residential area. The elephant was seen at the toll booth near Lockhart on the Munnar-Kumali highway in Idukki. The elephant is stationed on the road without moving from the area. The RRT team has reached the spot to drive away the elephant.

Padayappa, who vandalized a tourist's car, showed aggressive behavior as it was on musth time a few weeks ago. Padayappa, who was at Mattupetty, had destroyed small shops a few days ago. The elephant created panic after reaching the eco point. After the arrival of the RRT team, the elephant went into the forest but returned by night. After this, a new team was entrusted by the forest department to drive away the elephant.
