Housewife dies after being beaten by daughter-in-law's first husband

AMBALAPPUZHA: A housewife died while undergoing treatment after being beaten up by her daughter-in-law's first husband. The deceased has been identified as Veliyil native Prasanna (68). Parampil Sudhiappan, who was arrested in the incident, is in remand.

On Saturday evening, Sudhiappan, the first husband of Prasanna's daughter-in-law Sithara, reached Prasanna's house and created a ruckus. After engaging in a verbal dispute with Prasanna's son Vineesh, he hit both Vineesh and Prasanna on the head with a rod. Sudhiappan too sustained minor injuries during the ruckus. Upon learning about the incident, the Punnapra police reached the spot and took the three to the Alappuzha Medical College Hospital. Prasanna, who was undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit in a critical condition, died yesterday evening. Sudhiappan was arrested and remanded under a case of attempted murder. Following Prasanna's death, he was also charged with murder.

Sithara had left Sudhiappan a month ago and started living with Vineesh. Both the children were with Sudhiappan. Following this, Sudhiappan used to come to Vineesh's house and create a ruckus.
