THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has signed an ordinance amid his ongoing dispute with the state government. The Governor signed the GST Amendment Ordinance before leaving for Mumbai today morning.
The Ordinance was introduced to amend the IGST Act as per the decision of the GST Council meeting held in July. The ordinance includes matters such as levying 28 percent GST on online gambling using money.
The government had forwarded the ordinance to the Raj Bhavan last week for the Governor's approval. With the Governor signing the ordinance, the changes in the central GST law will come into force in the state as well. Meanwhile, eight bills, including the Kerala Lokayukta Amendment Bill and the University Amendment Bill, are under the consideration of the Governor.
