ALAPPUZHA: A homestay owner was arrested for sexually assaulting a foreign woman. The incident took place near Alappuzha Collectorate. The arrested person is Shayas (27), a native of Alappuzha.
According to the police, Shayas entered the room of the foreign woman staying at his home stay saying that he would give her a massage. He then sexually assaulted her. Shayas was arrested after the woman lodged a complaint with the Alappuzha police. Shayas was produced in court and remanded.
Meanwhile, the migrant worker, who went into hiding after sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl in Munnar, was arrested the other day. The arrested person has been identified as Jharkhand native Selal (35). The accused was nabbed while he was trying to move to Tamil Nadu. The accused and his wife, who went into hiding after the incident, stayed in a forest for five days. The incident related to the case took place on December 31. Selal, a worker at the Chittuvare Estate in Munnar, sexually assaulted the child after taking her to a nearby secluded place.
