NEW DELHI: Puri Shankaracharya will not be participating in the consecration ceremony of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. He pointed out that the ceremony should be according to the rituals and there is a limit to the interference of political leaders.
Other Shankaracharyas have also come forward stating that they will not participate in the Ram Temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya. Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math had said that the Shankaracharyas and priests of all the four maths in the country will not participate in the function. Jyotir Math Shankaracharya Avimukteswaranand Saraswati, in a video shared on the X platform, said that the decision taken by the four Shankaracharyas should not be considered anti-Modi. "The consecration ceremony takes place before the completion of the temple. If the Prime Minister is doing everything, then what is the need of the priests," he added.
