bougainvillea-

KOLLAM: Husband and wife along with their son came on a scooter and stole a whole bougainvillea plant with the pot. The plant was stolen from the house of former SBI chief manager H Nahas near Indiraji Junction in Amrithakulam, Mundakkal Village.

The incident happened on the 16th at 10:30 pm. A surveillance camera of a nearby house captured the scene of the couple, who came on an electric scooter, transporting the potted plant sitting on top of the wall on their scooter. The bougainvillaea plant that Nahas had nurtured for the past six years was stolen. Nahas, who is a plant lover, has a lot of plants in his houseyard and on the wall.

Nahas installed the surveillance camera when people started stealing the plants on top of the wall regularly. No complaint has been lodged with the police yet. Nahas has only one request, to return the plant that he raised like a child. Bougainvillea plants can cost between 150 rupees to 400 rupees on average, depending on the colour of the flower.
