Three persons including couple arrested on complaint of sexually assaulting minor girl

KALPETTA: Three people, including a couple, were arrested on the complaint of sexually assaulting a minor girl. The incident took place in Kenichira, Wayanad. The arrested people are Poothadi native Suresh (59), Poothadi Cherukunnu native Prachithan (45) and his wife Sujnana (38). Sujnana was booked for conniving for the torture.

Suresh, who surrendered before the Kalpetta POCSO court last week, is on remand. The couple, who were absconding, surrendered at the Kenichira police station today. As per the complaint, the accused had been sexually assaulting the child since 2020. The complaint also stated that the accused threatened to release nude pictures of the girl if she informed the police about the sexual assault.
