KOCHI: Actress Grace Antony has spoken out about the challenges faced by married heroines in Malayalam cinema. She revealed that some actresses choose to conceal their marital status to avoid a decline in opportunities. Grace expressed her desire for a change in this trend, emphasizing that after marriage, actresses often receive fewer film offers.

In an interview with Red FM, Grace Antony shared her perspective on the matter, stating that she personally wishes for more opportunities for women in cinema post-marriage. She acknowledged knowing friends who have kept their marital status hidden due to the fear of decreased opportunities, even though directors and producers deny having such biases.

Grace highlighted the issue, stating that she doesn't understand why opportunities for married women in the industry are limited. She has questioned directors and producers about this mindset, and although they deny it, Grace believes that some actresses continue to hide their marital status out of fear.

The actress expressed her concern for the need to change this perception, concluding that she hopes someone will challenge the existing mindset in the industry. Grace Antony believes that a shift in this perspective is necessary for the benefit of married actresses in Malayalam cinema.
