Man kills sister for her affair with Muslim youth, mother dies during attempt to save her

BENGALURU: A 19-year-old girl was thrown into a lake and killed by her brother after finding out her relationship with a man from another religion. Her mother, who tried to save her, also drowned to death. The deceased have been identified as Dhanusree and her mother Anita (43), natives of Mysore. Dhanusree's brother Nitin was arrested by the police.

The dead bodies of Dhanushree and Anita were found in the lake. The incident took place in Hansur village of Bengaluru. According to reports, the woman was in love with a Muslim youth. Nitin and Dhanusree had an argument over this on Tuesday night.

Dhanushree was not ready to withdraw from the relationship. Irked by this, her brother pushed her into the lake. Seeing this, Anita jumped into the lake to save her daughter. After this, Nitin went to his relative and asked for petrol money. It was this relative who came to know about the murder and informed the police. The relative told the police that for the past few months Nitin and his sister had been fighting.

The police officials said that the bodies of Dhanusree and Anita have been sent for post-mortem.
