Rs 146 cr sanctioned to construct school buildings in Kerala, Rs 56 cr for higher secondary sector

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: General Education Department Minister V Sivankutty has said that an administrative approval of Rs 146 crore has been received for the construction of new school buildings. 128 schools have received administrative permission for this amount. Rs 90 crores have been earmarked for construction of buildings in LP, UP and High School section. It will benefit 95 schools.

"Rs.56 crore will be for the construction of buildings for higher secondary sector. 33 schools will get this amount. Steps will be taken to complete the buildings in time," Minister V Sivankutty said.

Meanwhile, a team from Sikkim arrived in Thiruvananthapuram to learn about the education system in the state. A group of teachers and non-teachers arrived in Thiruvananthapuram. The Education Minister that this includes 12 state award winners and 27 commendation award winning teachers from government schools have come to learn about the Kerala model.
