KOCHI: Actor Nivin Pauly has vehemently denied sexual harassment allegations leveled against him, describing the claims as baseless and malicious. In a Facebook post, Nivin stated, "I have come across fake news accusing me of abusing a girl. Please know that this is completely untrue. I am determined to go to any extent to prove these allegations are baseless and will take all necessary steps to bring those responsible to light. Thank you for your concern. The rest will be handled legally."

The allegations surfaced following a complaint filed against a six-member group, including Nivin Pauly and producer A.K. Sunil, a native of Neriyamangalam. According to the complaint, the group allegedly lured a young woman with the promise of a film role, took her abroad and kept her in a hotel room for six days, subjecting her to torture.

The complaint further alleges that a young woman named Shreya convinced the victim to travel to Dubai with the promise of a role in a film. Nivin Pauly and others were reportedly present in Dubai as part of a film shoot. The incident in question allegedly took place in November 2023. The accused face charges under Sections 376 (rape), 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), and 376D (gang rape) of the Indian Penal Code.

The accused in this case include Shreya, A.K. Sunil, Binu, Basheer, Kuttan and Nivin Pauly. The victim's statement contains serious allegations, including claims that she was drugged and tortured to the point of unconsciousness. These allegations have surfaced amidst the backdrop of the Hema Committee report, which has brought to light numerous incidents of sexual misconduct within the entertainment industry. However, unlike the incidents highlighted by the Hema Committee, which occurred years ago, the allegations involving Nivin Pauly are said to have taken place as recently as November 2023.

As these developments unfold, the case raises critical questions about the responsibility of public figures and the potential for false accusations. Nivin Pauly's strong denial and his commitment to pursue legal action against those spreading what he claims are falsehoods highlight the complexities involved in such cases. While the truth must ultimately be determined through legal channels, this situation serves as a reminder of the importance of due process and the need to address both genuine instances of abuse and the potential harm of unfounded accusations.
