THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kadakampally Surendran MLA played down the rumours about Minister Mohammed Riyas criticizing his remarks on the dilapidated road works in Kerala.

“I just repeated what I mentioned in the assembly during 2021. Media construed the minister's remark as if it was directed at me,” Kadakampally explained.

However, the opposition mocked Kadakampally Surendran’s speech inside the assembly and said it was a dire attempt to alleviate the tension after seeing the wrath of Minister Riyas.

In the municipal development seminar held earlier, Kadakampally Surendran mentioned how some development projects in PWD are harming the residents of the city. However, it didn’t take long for Minister Riyas to hit back.

“Some people are hurt by the exemption of the contractor. Those wounds are still there and they will make rabid comments. However, people won’t believe them.” Minister Riyas commented.

On Wednesday, the assembly saw an uproar when Kadakampally Surendran termed MLA M Vincent as the one who tried to sabotage the Vizhinjam port project. Kadakampally also said that Vincent was the one who led the gathering of people in Vizhinjam to disrupt the project. With this, Vincent got up from his seat and moved towards the speaker's desk.
