After initial stumble, 'Fighter' crosses Rs 250 crore in seven days

A slow start at the box office, coupled with a slew of negative criticism riddled Siddharth Anand's directed movie ‘Fighter’ in the initial phase of release. However, battling all odds, and thriving simply in the clutches of mouth publicity, the Hrithik Roshan- Deepika Padukone movie has now collected 250 crores at the box office in just seven days. Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi and Sanjita Shaikh comprise the ensemble cast. Hrithik plays the role of Air Force Officer Sham Sher Pathani.

Deepika plays the role of squadron leader Minal Rathore. The film was released on January 25. Produced by Viacom 18 Studios and MarFlix Pictures. The screenplay of the movie is written by Ramon Chibb and Siddharth Anand. Music is composed by Vishal-Shekhar. Satchith Paulose, a Malayali is behind the cinematography of the movie.

According to reports, the movie has collected reasonably well in the south Indian cities of Hyderabad and Chennai, where the shows are continuing houseful. Fans have poured love and appreciation for the clinical portrayal of the character from Hrithik Roshan and then the compelling narrative also added to the success.
