Two held with ganja in Malappuram and Kannur

MALAPPURAM: 3.18 kilograms of ganja were seized in Parappanangadi. One identified as Sam Timothy, a native of Iritty in Kannur was arrested. He was arrested from Parappanangadi railway station during a joint search conducted by the RPF and Tirurangadi Excise Circle Office. He is involved in a drug gang that brings ganja to Kerala from other states in train and sells it in Kerala.


Meantime, a man who was selling ganja to migrant labourers in Kannapuram Mottammal areas of Kannur was nabbed by the excise. Sudeep Latta, a native of Bengal, was arrested by the Kannur Special Squad along with 1.75 kg of ganja. Excise circle inspector Shabu C and his team caught him from Podippuram Irinave Road. The accused produced in the court has been remanded.
