THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police released the information of the mastermind behind the attempt to impersonate the PSC exam held yesterday. Police said Amaljith, a native of Nemom, conspired the act.

While Aadhaar based fingerprint verification of candidates was going on in the exam hall, the impersonator ran away from the exam hall. He then jumped the wall and escaped on the bike of the youth waiting outside. The police said that it was Amaljith who was waiting outside with the bike. The police said Amaljith is absconding.

The impersonation attempt happened at Poojappura Chinnamma Memorial Higher Secondary School. The candidate had come to appear for the test for the post of last grade servant in Kerala University. The exam was from 7.15 am to 9.15 am. The youth who came in the name of Amaljith A of Sreehari Sadanam at Melamcode in Nemon, fled the exam centre when the invigilator started checking everyone’s biometrics.

He fled after leaving the hall ticket, ID and OMR sheet on his seat. Distribution of the question paper was not started. The vigilance officials inspected only suspected candidates. The impersonator fled while checking the fingerprints of the candidate sitting next to him. The CCTV visuals showed him fleeing on a bullet. Police reached the house following the address given but the candidate was not there.
