KAYAMKULAM: A woman was found lying dead under mysterious circumstances at her house in Eruva in Kayamkulam, Alappuzha. It is suspected that she was murdered. The police said that the woman's husband absconded after the incident. The deceased is Aswathi (34), the wife of Mavelikkara Vathikulam native Prasanth. Prasanth, Aswathi and their children have been living in a rented house in Eruva.

According to the police, Aswathi was found lying dead in the hall of the house on Saturday morning. There are scars on her neck. There was also bleeding from her mouth. It was Aswathi's children who first saw the body when they returned home after staying at Aswathi's home for two days. Following this, the neighbours informed the police. According to the neighbours, Prasanth was there at the house till Saturday morning. The preliminary conclusion of the police is that Prasanth absconded after murdering Aswathi.

Aswathi's relatives too accused Prasanth of killing her. Of late, there were major altercations between Prasanth and Aswathi. Aswathi had been working as a sales girl at an establishment in Kayamkulam. Forensic officials from Alappuzha reached the spot and collected evidence. The body was later moved to Alappuzha Medical College for post-mortem. Police said that they have intensified the search for Prasanth.
