VARKALA: A twenty-day-old corpse was found mauled by dogs. The incident took place at Chavarcode in Varkala, Thiruvananthapuram. It has been confirmed that the body belongs to Chavarcode native Ajith Devadas.

Half of the body was eaten by dogs. The dead body was found under a cashew tree in a deserted compound. The body was discovered during the search carried out by the locals last night after noticing a foul smell in the area.

Locals said that Ajith had family issues. His wife had earlier lodged a complaint with the Paripally police saying that he had harassed her. The forensic team reached the spot and completed the investigation. The body has been shifted to Paripally Medical College Hospital.
