Kerala being ruled by outdated government, Rahul Gandhi is curse of Kerala: K Surendran

KOZHIKODE: BJP state president K Surendran on Tuesday said that Kerala is being ruled by an outdated government. Speaking at a press conference held in Kozhikode in connection with the Kerala Padayatra, he said that the Chief Minister and the ministers were living in the era of 25 years ago.

"While other states are moving towards modernization, the government in Kerala is following an outdated approach. Even though innocent people were killed by wild animals in Wayanad, the Chief Minister did not bother to visit the families of the deceased. Chief Minister not visiting Wayanad is objectionable. Even the Forest Minister reached Wayanad very late. They are challenging the people. The state forest department has no modern system. There is no system of monitoring with other states. This government is completely outdated," Surendran said.

"Rahul Gandhi visits Kerala once in a while. He is the curse of Kerala. Wayanad is the only Aspirational District in Kerala and Rahul has not attended a single meeting for it," he said.

The BJP state president also pointed out that the state government's argument against the Centre in the Supreme Court has failed.

"The Supreme Court said that Kerala should find a solution through discussion with the Centre. The apex court has torn down the state government's argument that the Centre is neglecting Kerala. The state's attempt to hide the lapses on its part and put the blame on the Centre has failed. The mismanagement of the state government is the cause of the financial crisis. There are no items in Supplyco. The state government is unable to contain the price hike. Yet, it is obstructing the supply of Bharat rice. There has never been such an anti-people government before," Surendran added.
