Third seat: Will find solution today, says Muslim League

KOZHIKODE: PMA Salam, State General Secretary of the Muslim League, told the media that a decision regarding the League's demand for a third seat will be taken in today's final discussion.

"We have good hope that the party will get three seats. The matter of the Lok Sabha seat is being discussed. We haven't demanded a Rajya Sabha seat. Congress has not said that it will give us one. The decision regarding the seat should not be delayed. LDF is about to announce its candidates. Usually, the UDF is the first to announce the candidates. So, the decision should be expedited. The League is ready to contest any seat in Kerala. We are even ready to contest in Alappuzha, where we lost last time. If UDF is united, it will win anywhere. We are confident in winning all 20 seats," Salam said.

Responding to a question about the remarks made by the CPM leaders regarding the third seat, Salam said that the League would tolerate it if was insulted and no one else needs to be concerned in that regard.

Constituent parties should be ready for compromise
"There is nothing wrong with the Muslim League demanding a third seat in the Lok Sabha elections. It is a natural thing in frontal politics. The front can move forward only if constituent parties are ready to compromise with each other," Venugopal said.
