NEW DELHI: CPI leader Annie Raja, who has been named LDF candidate in Wayanad, said that she learnt politics from Wayanad. She also said that she is contesting the election to win.
"It is the Congress that should decide whether Rahul Gandhi should contest in Wayanad. I will reach Wayanad on March 1. My assurance to the people as a candidate is that I'll be always there in Wayanad as the people's representative," Annie Raja said.
Earlier today, CPM state secretary Binoy Viswam announced the party's candidates for four seats in Kerala in the Lok Sabha elections. CA Arun Kumar will contest from Mavelikkara. The CPI state executive rejected the opposition of the district council. The other candidates are VS Sunil Kumar in Thrissur, Annie Raja in Wayanad and Pannyan Raveendran in Thiruvananthapuram. The decision taken by the CPI executive was announced after the CPI council meeting this evening.
