Missing BJP worker Varsha's body found inside play school building; she was murdered, say police

NEW DELHI: The body of BJP woman worker Varsha (32), who went missing a few days ago, has been found inside a play school building in Delhi. Varsha, a native of Swatantra Nagar in Narela, Delhi, went missing on February 24. Following this, her father Vijayakumar had lodged a missing complaint with the police.

In his complaint, Vijayakumar said that Varsha was planning to start a play school along with Sohanlal, her business partner. On February 23, Varsha left home saying that she was going to meet Sohanlal. When Vijayakumar called Varsha's phone the next day, an unknown person answered the phone. The person spoke from near the railway tracks in Sonipat. Speaking over the phone, the person told Vijayakumar that he saw a man trying to commit suicide. The person then made a video call to Vijayakumar. Vijayakumar stated in the complaint that it was Sohanlal who attempted suicide. Although Vijayakumar immediately rushed to the spot, he could not find Sohan.

In the meantime, the police reached the play school and conducted an inspection. However, they could not find anything. Although they checked Sohan's mobile tower location, no information was found about both of them. On February 28, Vijayakumar came to the school building and asked the owner of the building to open the shutters of the school. When the shutter was opened, Varsha's dead body was found lying on the desk with a shawl around her neck. Meanwhile, on February 25, the police found an unrecognizable body on the railway track in Sonipat. It is concluded that the body belongs to Sohanlal. The police said that Sohanlal may have committed suicide after killing Varsha.
