Youth attempts to slit throat of woman for withdrawing from love affair

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a shocking incident, a youth attempted to slit the throat of a woman for withdrawing from a love affair. The 22-year-old woman, who sustained a serious injury, has been admitted to the Medical College Hospital. Police have intensified their search for the accused Arif, who fled after attacking the woman.

The incident took place at Arikkadamukku within the limits of the Nemom police station at around nine on Monday night. The woman was returning home when Arif, who was waiting on the road, attacked her.

On hearing the girl's scream, the locals rushed to the spot. They soon rushed her to the hospital. Police said that Arif and the woman were in love before.
