'Wild bison must be killed'; Widespread protests over farmer's death

attack

KOZHIKODE: Widespread protests are continuing over the death of a farmer in Kozhikode Kakkayam due to a wild bison attack. Congress workers and local people came to the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital to protest. Congress leaders say that they will not allow the body to be removed until the authorities arrive at the site. The tension in the area continues.

The protestors also demanded that the collector should reach the medical college immediately. There is a strong protest demanding an order to shoot and kill the wild buffalo that attacked the farmer. It is alleged that the forest department did not take any action even though the wild buffalo had threatened the lives of the people in the Kakkayam area for two days. The attempt to take the dead body to the mortuary was stopped and there was a scuffle with the police.

Palattil Abraham, a native of Kakkayam and a farmer died after being seriously injured in a wild buffalo attack in Kozhikode's Kakkayam. Abraham was attacked by a wild buffalo while he was plucking cocoa in a farm near the Kakkayam dam site.
