sc

THIRUVANAPURAM: The state government is gearing up to approach the Supreme Court on the Citizenship Amendment Act. It has begun legal examination in this regard. The Muslim League will file a petition in the Supreme Court today seeking a stay on the notification.

Lashing out at the Centre, DYFI responded that the Citizenship Amendment Act is a challenge to the Constitution. DYFI will also approach the Supreme Court. The Modi government implemented the Citizenship Amendment Act the other day.

Yesterday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had reiterated that there was no change in the stance that the Citizenship Amendment Act, which treats Muslim minorities as second-class citizens, will not be implemented in Kerala. The Chief Minister also stated that the whole of Kerala will be united in opposing this communal law.
