KOZHIKODE: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the Congress is continuing to play hide and seek in the struggle against the Citizenship Amendment Act. He was inaugurating the citizenship protection rally held under the auspices of the Constitution Protection Committee at Kozhikode Beach.

"A party was held at the Congress President's house when there was a huge agitation in the country against the amendment. The biggest Congress leader went abroad. Apart from the Left leaders, no Congress leader was arrested during the agitation in Delhi. Congress has been guilty of silence and indifference. Even when the rule came, the Congress did not say its position. The Congress did not react at the all-India level when concerns were raised that it was an attempt to drive away a section of people. Even when Rahul Gandhi went on the Bharat Jodo Yatra, he is completely silent on this matter. When media workers sought his response, Mallikarjun Kharge said he would think about it. Then the general secretary of the organization and he had a laugh. KC Venugopal asked whether it could not have been implemented earlier.," CM Vijayan said.

"Only Arif MP from Kerala has raised his voice in the Lok Sabha. The others hid in the corner without responding. Elamaram Kareem led the protest in Rajya Sabha. Even when the amendment was proposed, Congressmen did not intervene. Those who earlier agreed against the amendment in Kerala later stood aside. It is unclear why the KPCC president ridiculed the assembly resolution. The Congress action is helping the RSS and the central government. LDF will continue to take a strong stand. Citizenship Amendment Act will not be implemented here. The purpose of the law is to remove the citizenship of Muslims who have migrated to the country. Immigrants are separated into Muslims and non-Muslims. The Citizenship Amendment Act was introduced to legalize religious discrimination," the Chief Minister said
