THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday reiterated that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will not be implemented in Kerala. Speaking at a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram, the Chief Minister said that Kerala is ready to legally oppose CAA and take further action.

"We are opposing the political objective of the Citizenship Amendment Act. The law is anti-people and part of a communal agenda. It is a law that makes Muslims second-class citizens. The amendment is against the very concept of India," the CM said.

The Chief Minister, who termed the Citizenship Amendment Act as a heinous law, pointed out that the law is being criticized even at the international level. He said that the Sangh Parivar forces are targeting the politics of exclusion through this.
