AHMEDABAD: Another massive hunt for intoxicating drugs on the coast of Gujarat. 480 crore worth of drugs were seized and six Pakistani nationals were arrested in the incident. The drugs were seized in a joint operation by the Coast Guard, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).
The Pakistani boat was detained by the authorities at a distance of 350 km from the coast of Porbandar in the Arabian Sea. 80 kg of narcotic drugs were also seized during the subsequent inspection of the boat. It is suspected that the drugs were smuggled to take it to Delhi and Punjab. This is the second biggest drug bust on the Gujarat coast in a month.
On February 28, 3,300 kg of drugs were seized from the Gujarat coast. 30.89 kg of charas, 158 kg of methamphetamine and 25 kg of morphine were seized. The cost was estimated to be 2000 crore rupees. Agencies including ATS had taken the accused to Porbandar for interrogation. This was one of the biggest drug hunts the country saw in recent times.
