'Father will marry me off if I don't get 318 marks, please save my dignity': Bihar student's Class 10 answer sheet goes viral; picture

PATNA: After writing an exam, students sometimes add some requests at the end of the answer sheet for the invigilator. However, a note written by a student in her class 10 exam paper in Bihar is now garnering attention on social media.

While many wrote poems and stories on the answer sheet, one student wrote a very different and emotional plea on her answer sheet. The girl wrote that the invigilator should make her pass the exam and if she fails, her father will marry her off.

"My father is a farmer. He is not able to bear the burden of teaching me alone. That's why he doesn't want to teach me. My father has told me that if I don't get 318 marks, he will not let me study and marry me off. Sir, please save my dignity. I don't want to get married. Please I am a girl from a poor house. My father can't earn even 400 rupees daily. Then how will he teach me? This is the issue and nothing else''- the girl noted on her answer sheet.

The 10th class exams in Bihar were held from February 15 to 23. Only those students who secure 30 percent marks in theoretical exams and 40 percent marks in practical exams will be eligible for higher studies.
