Uzbekistan woman found dead in hotel room was murdered by hotel staff; iPhone found

BENGALURU: Police have found that the Uzbekistan woman, who was found dead in a hotel room in Bengaluru, was murdered. The police said that the woman was killed by the hotel staff. Two people have been arrested. The arrested people are Assam natives Amrit Sona (22) and Robert (26). The iPhone and the money that went missing from the woman's room were recovered from the accused.

Serena Utkirovna, a 37-year-old from Uzbekistan, was found dead in a hotel room in the city on the night of March 13th. There were injuries on her face. There was also bleeding from the nose. In the preliminary investigation, the police found that the woman died due to suffocation. Following this, the accused were nabbed during an investigation focused on the hotel staff.

On questioning, the accused told the police that they committed the murder with the aim of stealing the money and belongings of the woman. The accused thought that she had a lot of money. The accused told the police they thought they would get rich quickly if they stole it.

Serena came to India on a tourist visa. She reached Bengaluru on March 5 from Delhi. It was a travel agent named Rahul who booked a room for the woman in the hotel. She had informed the hotel that she would stay there till the 16th. The daily rent of the room was Rs.5,500. In addition to this, she had also paid for the food from the hotel.

Serena used to pay each day's rent and the money for food on the respective days. She had entrusted Amrit Sona, the hotel employee and the accused in the case, to pay the bill amount for each day at the counter. One day, Amrit Sona noticed that the woman's bag was full of money. Seeing this, he thought that the woman had a lot of money. Following this, he planned the murder with Robert to get the money.
