Youths steal gold worth Rs 3.25 lakhs from housewife; incident took place in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a shocking incident, two youths snatched the gold chain of a woman in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday. The incident took place at Plamoottukada at around 11.30 am today.

The gold chain belongs to Neyyattinkara native Liji. The youths reached the spot on a motorbike. Although Liji tried to resist the chain-snatching attempt, one of the youths jumped from the bike and snatched the chain from her using force. The youths then immediately fled the spot on the bike. Following the incident, Liji lodged a complaint with the Pozhiyoor police. The police said that they have registered a case and are conducting an investigation based on the CCTV footage from the region and nearby places.

According to the police, the stolen chain is worth Rs 3.25 lakhs.
