patanjali-

NEW DELHI: Acharya Balkrishna, managing director of Patanjali Ayurveda and aide of yoga guru Ramdev, apologized to the Supreme Court. He apologized after the court came down heavily for not responding to a contempt notice over misleading advertisements.

A bench comprising Justice Hima Kohli and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah had issued summons to Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna asking them to appear on April 2. Acharya Balkrishna apologized later.

In the affidavit filed in the court, the company said that they have great respect for the rule of law and will ensure that such advertisements will not be issued in the future. Acharya Balkrishna stated that the products of 'Patanjali' are backed by Ayurvedic research and the company's aim is to help the citizens of the country to lead a healthy life.

The Indian Medical Association filed a complaint against Patanjali for making fun of health branches including allopathy and selling products in a misleading way.
