THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Scheduled Castes Commission has directed the DGP to conduct an inquiry into the casteist slurs of Kalamandalam Satyabhama against Dr RLV Ramakrishna. The police chief is directed to investigate the matter and submit a report within ten days. The commission also assessed that Satyabhama used casteist slurs on artists with dark complexion.

The Human Rights Commission had filed a case against Satyabhama yesterday. The suo-motu case was filed on the basis of media reports. At the same time, RLV Ramakrishnan said that the derogatory remarks will be dealt with legally. Thrissur district police chief and culture department secretary have been instructed to submit a report within 15 days. Human rights activist Guinness Madasamy had also filed a complaint in this matter.

Sathyabhama's derogatory remark came in an interview given to a YouTube channel. Sathyabhama said that only those with fair complexion and enchanting qualities should perform Mohiniyattam.
