DISPUR: A video of a blind beggar seeking alms in Guwahati in Assam is now going viral on social media. The blind beggar named Dashrath caught the attention of social media users after a video showed him accepting alms through digital payments.
The video shows Dashrath seeking alms by wearing a PhonePe card with a QR code around his neck. He can be seen approaching a car and asking the passenger for money. Following this, the passenger scans the QR code and sends him Rs 10. It was another passenger who recorded this video using his phone.
The video was shared on social media by Congress leader Gauravv Somani. This is not the first time a beggar has been seen using a digital payment method to seek alms. Earlier, a 40-year-old beggar from Bihar was seen seeking alms at a railway station by wearing a placard with a QR code around his neck.
Stumbled upon a remarkable scene in bustling #Guwahati – a beggar seamlessly integrating digital transactions into his plea for help, using PhonePe! Technology truly knows no bounds.
