‘Secretary will be responsible if I do something,’ audio of junior health inspector who committed suicide, out

KOZHIKODE: An allegation has been levelled against a panchayat secretary in connection with the suicide of Priyanka (26), junior health inspector of Orkkatteri Chekyad panchayat. A voice recording in which Priyanka is saying that if she does something, then Chekyad panchayat secretary is responsible for it, has been surfaced.

Priyanka was found hanging the other day when her neighbors came and opened the door after her mother created a ruckus. She died before reaching the hospital. A suicide note was later recovered from the room. The voice recording that came out said rejecting her leave application continuously devastated her mentally. However, the panchayat secretary explained that her leave application was not rejected. Her suicide note and the voice recording have mentioned about the panchayat secretary.

The note obtained said that when she told him that she will resign in January, he said in a threatening voice that leave will be given in March. The note said that when she asked leave in March, he asked her to take from 23rd and when asked now, he rejected her leave application.
