WAYANAD: The statement given by the hostel inmates to the anti-ragging squad regarding the death of Pookode Veterinary College student JS Siddharth is mysterious. According to the statement, on the day Siddharth was found hanging in the washroom of the hostel, the people in the hostel had gone to a movie and a festival.

In the statement given to the anti-ragging squad, it has been said that they went to the movies in Bathery and Kalpetta in large numbers, and a few went to festivals in Thalassery and Kannur. As the accusations of Siddharth's death being a murder are getting stronger, there are suspicions whether the people in the hostel were made to leave.

Some kept their movie tickets to show that they were not at the hostel when Siddharth was found dead. Only one person testified that he saw Siddharth walking to the washroom. The rest stated that they saw him lying on the bed in the dormitory with a blanket covering his head on the morning of February 18. This also adds to the mystery. One of the hostel's cooks resigned after the incident. The police have also received information that the students recorded the scenes of brutal torture Siddharth had to face, on their phones.
