NEW DELHI: Delhi minister and AAP leader Kailash Gehlot has been summoned for questioning by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case related to the liquor policy. Gehlot currently serves as the Minister of Home, Transport and Law in the Delhi government.

The minister has been summoned for questioning days after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested in the case. The case alleges corruption and money laundering in the formulation and implementation of the government's excise policy for 2021-22. According to the ED report, the Aam Aadmi Party allegedly used more than 600 crore rupees received as bribes to fund election campaigns in Goa and Punjab.

Three Aam Aadmi Party leaders, including Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, have been arrested in the Delhi liquor case. The other two are AAP MP Sanjay Singh and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. Former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K. Kavita are also in jail in the same case.
