THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Four people were injured in an explosion while making country-made bombs in Mannanthala in Thiruvananthapuram. Anirudh, a 17-year-old native of Nedumangad, lost both his hands in the accident. Three others who were with him also sustained injuries. Two of them are in critical condition.

According to the police, all four injured people belonged to a gang of goons. The accident took place on Wednesday evening while they were making country-made bombs at a deserted place on top of a hill in Mannanthala. Anirudh was previously arrested by police for making illegal bombs. All four of them were also involved in a bike theft case. The police had gone to their homes the other day in search of them. It is also suspected that the gang was making the bomb to attack the police.
