Attempted to record bathroom visuals by placing mobile phone inside airhole; 37-year-old arrested in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have arrested a man who tried to capture bathroom visuals of girls through the airhole of a ladies' hostel in the state capital. The incident took place at a ladies' hostel situated in Nanthencode in Thiruvananthapuram. The arrested person has been identified as Nanthencode native Anildas (37).

Anildas entered the hostel premises on Sunday night. According to the police, the accused tried to capture the bathroom visuals of the girls by placing a mobile phone in the airhole. Upon noticing the mobile phone, the girls seized the mobile phone and informed the police. The police nabbed Anildas after conducting an investigation based on the complaint lodged by the inmates of the hostel. Several ladies' hostels and paying guest facilities are functioning in the Nanthencode region.

There are widespread complaints anti-social elements are frequently harassing girls and women in this area. According to the locals, although the police are conducting inspections in the area, girls and women are often harassed by anti-social elements.
