Teacher killed after car skids off road in Wayanad, six injured

MALAPPURAM: A teacher met a tragic end when the car in which he was traveling met with an accident around 1 pm near the Chennalod Masjid on Kalpetta's Padinjarethara Road.

The deceased Gulzar (44), son of Mohammad and Aleema, was driving the car. He was a teacher at the government school in Kolappuram. He served as an Islahi lecturer, Thirurangadi Constituency Joint Secretary of KNM Markazudawa, State Dawah Committee member, Kerala Jamiatul Ulama member, Quran Research Foundation director, CIER trainer, Tirurangadi Tharammal Juma Masjid khateeb, Quran Learning School instructor, Thirurangadi Crayons Preschool and Al Furkhan madrass chairman.

His wife Jaseela and children Nasil Muhammad (17), Laifa Fatima (7) and Laheen (three) were in the car. His sister's children Silja (12) and Siltha (11) are undergoing treatment in various hospitals in Kozhikode and Wayanad. The other passengers who were with him escaped unhurt. Siblings: Jasir, Shameel Nawaz, Rubeena and Nadeera.
