Avail 20 percent discount at these hotels by voting in Lok Sabha election

NEW DELHI: Hotels and restaurants in Delhi's Karol Bagh and Najafgarh will give 20 percent discount to those who vote in the Lok Sabha elections. This is to encourage people to cast their votes in the elections to be held in Delhi on May 25.

Voters can get this benefit by displaying the ink mark on their finger within 24 hours of voting. The concession was announced by Karol Bagh Lodging House Owners Association, Hotel and Restaurant Association and Delhi Hotel and Restaurant Owners Association.

"This initiative underscores the crucial role of voter participation in strengthening democracy and nurturing civic responsibility," Abhishek Mishra, Deputy Commissioner of Karol Bagh Zone, said.

"The initiative aims to encourage citizens to actively engage in the democratic process and fulfil their civic duty. By providing tangible benefits to voters, the associations hope to drive up the voter turnout and promote civic engagement in the Karol Bagh and Najafgarh areas," he added.

Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases from April 19 to June 1. Counting of votes is on June 4. Polling in Kerala will be in the second phase, on April 26. Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Odisha and by-elections in 26 assembly seats in nine states will also be held.

Lok Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in five phases. The term of the current Lok Sabha is till June 16.
