Arrogance of leaders led to setback in election; CPM central committee raises severe criticism

cpm

NEW DELHI: The CPM central committee raised severe criticism against the leaders for the party's defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. The central committee alleged that the arrogance of the leaders led to the setback in the election. The CC noted in the review report that the behaviour of the leaders and workers was poor.

While the BJP and the Congress used social media well, the CPM did not maintain good standards. The CC also demanded that the method of social media interaction should be reviewed. The central committee further pointed out that corruption in cooperative banks and local bodies also caused setbacks to the party.

Former minister and candidate from Pathanamthitta constituency, Dr TM Thomas Isaac, had pointed out on his Facebook page that the CPM failed to understand the public mind and that the party was unable to avoid the changes in the attitude of the voters. He also said that the CPM had lost its vital connection with the people. Isaac stated that it was not the fault of the people but the lapse of the party's organizational system that led to the defeat.
