Car tries to overtake lorry, seven people suffer serious injuries in Thamarassery

THAMARASSERY: Seven people were injured in a car collision on the Mukkam state highway. A car belonging to a family from Atholi collided with another car belonging to a native of Narikkuni. The car, which was going from Thamarasery to Mukkam, tried to overtake the lorry in front of it at high speed when it hit an oncoming car. The front end of both the vehicles was completely destroyed on impact.

The passengers of the two cars, Atholi Kootil Shameem (41), Jazeera (35), Ayesha (75), Siyan (13), Shifra (11 months), Shiba (7) and Salahuddin Narikuni, were injured. Shiba (7) who was seriously injured was shifted to the Medical College Hospital and Salahuddin was shifted to a private hospital in Kozhikode. The rest were admitted to a private hospital in Omassery. The accident happened at 10:30 pm on Tuesday.

In another car accident in Kozhikode's Payyoli last day, two people died. The deceased has been identified as Sensi (32), a native of Velliparamba in Kozhikode, and his son Bisharul Hafi (7). The accident after a car collided with a lorry.
