NEW DELHI: Two soldiers were killed in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag on Saturday. Three soldiers and two locals sustained injuries.
The encounter took place on Saturday in the Ahlan Gagarmandu forest area in Kokernag in South Kashmir. A joint team of Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF were conducting a search in the area when the terrorists opened fire at them. Following this, the security forces retaliated.
It is reported that the terrorists entered Anantnag via Doda in Jammu. The fierce encounter continued for hours on Saturday. Army sources said that four terrorists were spotted in the region. The army released the sketches of the four persons and announced a reward for those providing information about the terrorists.
