NEW DELHI: Former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam said that Rahul Gandhi should have contested from Varanasi and in the Lok Sabha elections and critcized his candidature in Rae Bareli. Pramod Krishnam alleged conspiracy against Priyanka Gandhi and the result of not giving her a seat will be seen on June 4. after June 4 Congress will split into Rahul's side and Priyanka's side.

"The way Rahul Gandhi has left Amethi, Congress party workers' morale is down. Priyanka Gandhi not contesting the election, this is now taking the shape of a volcano in the hearts of her supporters that will erupt after June 4," he said.

"Congress will again be split into two factions, one of Rahul Gandhi and the other of Priyanka Gandhi... I think Rahul Gandhi should contest from Rawalpindi instead of Raebareli, as his popularity and demand are increasing in Pakistan," he added.

"Rahul Gandhi will not let Priyanka Gandhi Vadra fight these elections. There is a big conspiracy afoot against Priyanka. She is the victim of a conspiracy hatched by her family and the party," Acharya Krishnam said on Friday.

Last day, Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination papers as a candidate in Rae Bareli. He is also contesting from Wayanad. Congress chose Kishori Lal Sharma, who is closest to the Gandhi family, to face Smriti Irani. This is the first time that an outsider from the Gandhi family is contesting from Amethi. On the other hand, in Rae Bareli, Rahul is clashing with Uttar Pradesh Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh, who contested against Sonia in 2019 as well.
